Overview
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is a genuine rarity: a tiny American manufacturer that builds road cars, off-roaders and a Le Mans Hypercar, and finishes on the podium against factory teams.
History
James Glickenhaus, an American film producer, founded the company in 2004 at Sleepy Hollow, New York; the name combines his surname with his wife Meg Cameron’s. The original aim was low-volume, high-performance cars for the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
In 2005 he commissioned a bespoke sports car from Pininfarina for around $4 million, inspired by Ferrari’s P-series; the P4/5 debuted at Pebble Beach in 2006, and a P4/5 Competizione followed on a 430 Scuderia chassis. Road cars now include the SCG 003, the Boot — modelled on Steve McQueen’s 1967 Baja Boot — the 004 and the 007S. The 007 LMH took an overall podium at Le Mans in 2022, the first American sports car to do so in 53 years.
