About these listings

Every AAS listed on MotorLoop.

Overview

AAS is Alan Autosports, the Pennsylvania firm behind the GT Malan — a custom-built supercar pitched as the most affordable of its kind at just under 100,000 US dollars. It runs a 600 horsepower LS2 V8, with a quoted 2.9 seconds to 60 mph and a 218 mph top speed.

The registered model list is a set of trim levels rather than separate cars: Trophy, Sport, Performance, Race and Euro Editions, alongside the GT Malan itself. Two cars wearing the same badge can therefore be specified very differently.

History

The GT Malan came out of more than five years of development by Dr David Alan, who founded the company and designed the car. It is built in Masontown, in south-western Pennsylvania, by a three-person team — Dr Alan, his wife and the company’s senior executive — with each car assembled to order.

Cars of this kind sit on a mid-engined component chassis of the Factory Five GTM type, which is worth confirming on any individual example, because it determines what the running gear and the parts supply actually are.

Buying one in Australia

This is a low-volume American car, so an example here has been imported and needs import approval plus an engineering assessment under your state or territory’s individually constructed vehicle rules.

Given the performance figures, expect that assessment to look hard at brakes, restraints, fuel system and structure. Ask to see the certificate covering the car in its current specification before agreeing a price.
