When

This is a platform comparison. General information gathered from public sources — pricing, features and policies change, so check each platform’s own site before deciding. Full note

Few Australian automotive events carry the cultural weight of the Repco Bathurst 1000. Known simply as "The Great Race", the 2026 edition runs from Thursday 8 – Sunday 11 October 2026 at Mount Panorama in Bathurst, New South Wales — the 66th running of the event.

More than a race

The Bathurst 1000 covers 1000 kilometres, placing enormous demands on drivers, teams and cars. Strategy, pit stops, tyre management and driver consistency matter just as much as outright speed.

Mount Panorama itself is half the appeal. It has become one of the most recognisable motorsport locations in Australia, and the mountain has been the scene of generations of memorable Australian touring-car battles — a sense of history many modern venues simply cannot replicate.

The pilgrimage

Bathurst weekend draws enormous crowds who travel from across the country, many camping at the top of the mountain for the full week. For Australian enthusiasts it remains the fixture of the year.
